Inspection is a legal right of buyers and settled in the contract. There are mainly five ways to carry it out:
1. Inspected in the exporting country. Buyers bear the risks out of the place of origin.
2. Inspected in the loading port. The goods are inspected before or in the process of loading by an inspection station appointed in the contract. The inspection certificate can be the proof of handing goods over.
3. Inspected in the destination port.
4. Inspected in the seller’s or buyer’s place. This way suit the goods of delicate and sealed package and the facilities requiring the shakedown test.
5. Inspected in the exporting country and recheck in the importing country. The buyers can raise an objection, lodge a claim or even reject the goods after problems were found in the recheck which were caused be sellers.
These ways mentioned above are adopted according to the trading conditions. Generally speaking, the most convenient and reasonable way is No.5, which promises the needs of the two parties. In China, it is also the common way in the foreign trade.
